Something old, something new

....and no, it's not for a wedding, although, you would mainly hear these words for that special occasion

Here are some sample cards I've done during my time off.

 

I've used the skinny tin and decorated it and made a few small cards to put in there as gifts for my girlfriends.

@ Home Projects

During the last couple of weeks, I've been working on some Christmas gifts for friends and for the office. 

This is a nugget box, which I CASE'd it from Becky Roberts, InkingIdaho.  I made 4 of these using 4 different stamp sets.  Here are some more samples.

It can fit 2 cards nicely in there.  You can make the cards to match the box or randomly.

These are boxes that are made to fit the square Ghirardelli chocolates - fits 3 pieces nicely.

 

I will be offering a series of classes in the next few months starting January that will teach you how to make these projects.  They can be made to fit any occasion, not just for the holiday season.

New idea for My Digital Studio

I was playing with MDS last night, making sample cards, such as birthday, thank you and just because cards - then an idea came to me to make an e-card.  I wasn't exactly sure how it would turn out though. Like most cards if you get it in person, you have the cover and then the inside of card.  I decided to do as an additional page, which looks like 2 pages.

I thought, what should I do as my 1st test?  What subject do I want the "E-card" to be?  Then it came to me: I was invited to a girlfriends baby shower for today about a week ago, and since I am unable to go, I thought I would send an e-card.  Instead of using the pre-designed ones you can get via Yahoo, Hallmark or Hotmail or any other companies - I decided to do something a bit more personal. Since I have the idea in my head, I couldn't go to sleep and wait for the next day - so I started this project about 11:30pm and took about less than an hour to do. 

So here is the result - keeping it nice and simple:

I can't wait to play a little bit more.  I would definitely create more other occasion cards for friends and family if I don't get to see them in person.

If you have the program, do experiment and play with it - you might just be surprised how easy it is to use and how imaginative your projects will and can be.  If you don't have the program, please do consider purchasing it, it is totally worth it.
